Nashville: Hot Chicken

I’ll be passing through Nashville later today and want to get yalls opinion on the best hot chicken there. I’ve had hattie bs other places and love it, but if there is a consensus favorite I want to try it out.

I'll throw you something different. Go to Otaku Ramen and get the Nashville Hot Chicken Bao and some ramen for dessert.

IMO the best right now are the tenders and hot chicken gyro coming from the Hurt's Hot Chicken food truck. He moves around some, but sets up on Mt. Juliet Road most days (check his Facebook feed for location that day). Aside from Hurt's, I really like 400 Degrees (3704 Clarksville Pike), Slow Burn (locations in Madison & a new takeout place in East Nashville), and SubCulture (Nolensville Road and at the Southern Grist taproom on Centenniel). Subculture is non-traditional but their hot chicken sandwich, tacos, and ramen are all excellent!

Subculture has a better Hot Chicken Ramen if that's what you're looking for.
Personally, I've had Bolton's several times and I don't see the appeal other than "it's the first to do it".
Prince's is good, which I'm sure you've heard of, but overall I'd say why try to fix what ain't broken? Hattie B's is my favorite: very consistent and good hot chicken and the best sides among all of the hot chicken places.

Prince’s chicken is way better than Hattie B’s. Bolton’s was too, but I think it’s still closed from the tornado. Went to Slow Burn recently and really enjoyed it.
Hattie B’s is popular because of where they are located and because of tourists who don’t know better. Their sides are solid though.

I’ve heard of princes and wouldn’t mind trying it. Have had hattie bs in Birmingham and Memphis and it has always been consistent. And that Mac and cheese is awesome. Hatties turned out to be the least out of the way of the group today too, so it worked out.
Was solid as usual.
