my wife begs me to like brussel sprouts and brocolli but i can't do it.

i'll take a 'no thank you' bite and eat one brocolli and 2-3 brussel sprouts but i'm literally choking it down.

at my age my palate isn't likely to change.

i always laugh at the people who bitch about mayonnaise who love ranch dressing.  its the same thing.

False. The texture, consistency, and taste are completely different. I'm one of these people.

Mayo is just an oil/vinegar/egg yolk emulsion. It's the base for more sauces and dressings than I can count. I've seen plenty of recipes that call for the basic ingredients of mayo without just actually calling for mayo.

When I tasted my first one after hearing all the hype (Think it was a Pliny), I thought to myself “clearly this is a joke that I’m not in on”

Still don’t like the super bitter/piney tasting ones, but enjoy the juicy citrusy ones.

I read that people are genetically predisposed to either love hops or not.

Coconut is one I find to be polarizing.

Oysters is a good answer. You can't just order a few dozen raw with any group. Some people are repulsed.

I've never made mayo with vinegar.

Just oil, egg, lemon juice, dijon mustard, and a bit of salt.

I get the ingredients, but I just laid out to you the reasons why I hate mayo, and don't hate ranch.

3 days in stomach pain hell cured of ever eating raw oysters again.

Nothing to do with the taste or texture but I'll take them fried on a poboy from now on.

Remember, this is what most people love or hate. I don’t ever see people spooning mayonnaise out of the jar and loving it.

Well I've been known to mix in some Texas Pete's and use big dollops for fresh cut French fries.

I don't ever see people eating raw steak and loving it. People must hate steak.

I knew one person that would do this, she'd just get a big ole jar of mayo and eat it by the spoonful. I watched her doing it on a hot summer day. It was disgusting.
