Maybe this is an overly simplified way of thinking but the guy makes easy foods. Not every meal is a 7 course fine dining experience nor should it be as we wouldn't appreciate fine dining when we have it. If it makes him happy to post spam sandwiches and burger poboys so be it. If it's not something you like to eat, no one is going to force you to do so. Just let him post what he cooks and enjoys without turning it into a 17 page argument over lifestyle choices.

In case you haven't noticed this is a message board. If someone posts something, people comment on it. You guys knight for this guy way too hard. Is there a MD bat signal?

People arent just making comments. They are being douchebags.
Posted on 5/3/13 at 4:54 pm to jamboybarry
Jesus dude, calm down. I was just saying that some people enjoy different things. If this guy enjoys spam and burger poboys and wants to post, let him do so without turning it into a lifestyle choice.

Just amazes me some guy posts a pictorial on how to make a bowl of ceral and all these people praise him, but someone posts some actual good cooking tips / techniques / recipes about cooking and gets ripped on here by all the hate everything assholes
Same kind of people who go on the defensive about the fact that they love Bud Light and call anyone who drinks craft (see: good) beer hipsters or snobs or pretentious.

There's constructive criticism and then there's starting crap just for the sake of it. That's all I'm saying.

Who's arguing with who here? Seems like everybody is just pissed with everybody.

As a maven myself I feel like that's pretty much a two-way street in these parts but I digress. To the other guy, 8/10, I applaud your efforts.

Seems to me like the OT has spilled over to the F&D.

I actually thoroughly enjoy your posts.

i hate people like this. I tell people that dont like Drive that they didn't get it, for example, and they call me a pretentious hipster. I hate a on a shitty, popular movie like Independence Day, and I'm told "Oh! It's the new cool thing to hate on!!!"

bullshite, you know you are controversial.... You can play the innocent card all you want
This is your shtick... If you honestly think you add anything of substance to the board with your "how to make canned beans/spam sandwich" threads then you are incompetent ...simple, country cooking (not popping open a can of something) is a beautiful thing that I love to see recipes and methods for... I have no interest in seeing most of what you post here because it doesn't qualify as such ...
Just my $.02

There's an easy fix for that, Cap. Don't open the threads and skip his posts. It's a simple thing and not a novel idea. I do it quite often when the subject doesn't interest me. For example, I skipped the Hardee's thread and I skip all the beer threads. I skip threads by certain people no matter what the subject is. I read all threads by certain people no matter the subject.

I posted a good recipe the other day that was different than anything I've seen on here. The only response it got was someone pissed there were no pictures.

Meridian, I enjoy your threads. Shake the haters

I know what you mean. I took hours preparing a meal I had never made before. I spent a long time writing and posting pics. I accidentally clicked the submit button before I added the pictures. There were about four smartasses who made comments that there were no pictures. Then I added the pictures and I got one comment on the actual meal.
Dog takes a lot of time writing and adding pics and gets criticized. It seems like you can't win. I agree with Gris. If you don't like his threads, ignore them. It's as simple as that. I enjoy reading them and will continue to do so.
