in past reviews / recommendations Old Geauxt and LSUballs had recommended the Sharecropper drink at Cottons - my boss took us and I ordered one.....a very nice drink.
Everyone enjoyed the meal - I got the cobia special - it was very nice but the drink may be my favorite.
Sharecropper:
dickel
lemon
ginger syrup
rhubarb bitter
2 big arse ice cubes
well done Cotton...well done
Northeast LA is very lucky to have this restaurant.

NELA doesn't deserve Cotton
It's all but gone anyway. So it doesn't really matter whether we deserved it or not. But I don't see us any different than any other city in the south. No more or less "deserving" of Cotton. Sure it put us on the the map. Monroe wouldn't be a town without it. The money it brought in, the lifestyle it created, the power it infused into the region making it a viable player in the south, putting Monroe on par with cities 3-4 times its size. But it's over now. And good riddance I say. For all the good it did it's now crippled the city. shite the whole area. Crime and poverty are thru the roof. The education system is in tatters. Kids wander the streets at all hours of the night with no guidance, no hope, no future. No sense of family. You say we don't deserve Cotton. I say Cotton doesn't deserve us. In the end what good did it do? Other than stuffing the pockets of some old fossilized honkies and making our football teams the finest in the country. Give me Genetically modified corn and beans anyday. You can keep that Devils fiber.

My shortest timeout yet. Apparently cursing The Hat is a far less egregious offense than some of my others.

My first thought, too...beyond admiring the clarity of your early morning thought...

Disregard the DUMAS text from me then,, glad to have you back, we need you!!
Now get your arse back on the bench where you're supposed to be.
OP, nelatfabcdxyz,, I sometimes have a few sharecroppers and find myself saying, "fork it, just bring me a burger"..

Is this the same redneck that you and I have dined with, shared thoughts and opinions with? The same one and only unkooooth hillbilly that embarrassed us in a 2 bit Sterlington Fish House by pouring his turnip greens in his tray and turning the tray up to suck the pot liquor out??
Ms balls must have posted that?

you sayin you waste that good pot liquor?
Posted on 9/18/15 at 6:27 am to Matisyeezy
No, OF COURSE NOT,, I suck it out of the bowl that it comes in! I don't cool the juice off by pouring it out in the serving tray like the old folks used to pour their coffee out in a saucer and blow on it! Besides, balls was blowing so hard it was making pot liquor waves.

Yep. If yall could somehow meld Commanders, Peche and August together you would have a passable re-creation. .

Nola doesn't have the shoulders for that, Mr Balls.

Naw, Cory has already been to Nola a few times, kicked the best asses that Nola could nominate and fluff, took no prisoners and marched back home, to the nawf. In this case, the spoils go to the losers.
Nice angle, though,
Eta:,, dammit, I was typing and talkin', quit reading, Les got all three of us with one shiny hook! Oh well,, I didn't need to sleep tonight anyway.

I dined there when I was in Monroe a year or so ago and it was great. The food and drinks were outstanding and its a great space.
