My Anova is not holding temp

I've had it for about 5 years now, and I use it in spurts. I have been using it a bit more lately, and the last two times I noticed temp struggling to hold. 2 nights ago it failed miserably. Set for 187 and sat at 175. I even brought the water to just below boiling, since it seems to take forever to heat up now. After about 20 mins I saw temp had dropped again.
Is there some troubleshooting for these things? Maybe some clogging or other issue? Or do I just have a worn out unit that needs to be replaced? Tried searching the webz and am finding it difficult to get clear answers.

The bottom assembly comes apart a bit to remove any debris.
Were you using enough water in the receptacle?
Was the water in any way inhibited from properly flowing due to what you were cooking?
If all three of those aren't the issue, then it sounds like the unit went bad.

Only suggestion is to try breaking it down and giving it a good cleaning.
If you have hard water, scale can build up on the thermometer probe.
This can be easily achieved with distilled vinegar.

I would try to reduce heat loss from the water. Try wrapping a towel around your container and place a lid on it if you can.

Plastic bubble wrap actually works pretty good as insulator on top.
I'd soak it in vinegar over night, then let it run in vinegar for a few hours and see if that helps it out.

Will try this. Your other two suggestions were not issues. Will also do the vinegar soak as others suggested. May actually run it at low temp with vinegar water mixture. Hope it works
