The BR house to Denham job commute is pretty easy. If I were you I would look for housing on the west side of Broadmoor. It would be a trafficless 10 minute commute to work, and you'd be in a part of BR that isn't crazy expensive but is still both safe and convenient to everything.

If your employment is in Dedham Springs, there is a Rouse's grocery at Juban Crossing. Renting in Denham or Walker would be very convenient to your job, as would Central or Watson. Good luck!!

Not really. Stay out of shitty neighborhoods, don't get involved in shady business like dealing drugs, lock your vehicle and don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle that's visible (like bags that could hold a laptop) and you should be OK.

The traffic is much worse than the crime
Baton rouge just has a terrible mayor and city council to run things

Oak Point and Rouses for groceries. Go to BR for the others recommended if they don’t cut it for you. Plenty banks to choose from. I do Capital One.

Live in Denham shop at Walmart seems that’s how it works

Someone saying below Florida Blvd is fine, well I'm sure Gardere agrees with that statement.

I will be working in Denham Springs. I am more than likely renting a home in Denham Springs (especially after seeing the advice given here).

The Denham Springs, Walker, or Watson area would honestly be your best bet then. It also would depend on what part of Denham you would be working. North or South of Florida Blvd.

I agree. If your job is in Denham then you are good. I lived in Denham for about 2 years after saying "I will never live in Denham Springs" and honestly I enjoyed it but Central and Live Oak are close as well

It has everything you need without having to go to Baton Rouge but close enough that driving to LSU or other places in BR even once a week(If that is what you like) isn't hard at all.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ON HOW MUCH WATER A HOUSE GOT IN 2016 BEFORE BUYING! 90% FLOODED

I now live in Central and love my house and neighborhood but honestly like the convenience of Denham Springs better.

Good luck.

PS:
Banks: Whitney and Regions are in the middle of town.
Grocery: Carter's, Rouses, and Walmart is there for other things besides meat.

No.

If you're working in DS, then I'd live in DS. Baton Rouge traffic sucks. I can't offer you any options for groceries in DS not banks. Just here to defend BR from the BS that people sling at it on this site.

Just like they do with DS, Walker, Central, etc..?

Baton Rouge has it's ups and downs but there is no denying that the city government is broken along with the traffic.

Denham Springs is a good place to live.

Grocery Store - Rouse's on Juban Rd. Hands down the best.

Bank - Chase.
