But I admit that I did make an early offer to Ruffino's, but that was by mistake. Let me clear that up. With all the early talk in this thread about Outback and Flemmings, I got confused and thought the Ruffinos guy that showed up and commented was a Flemmings guy. So in my mind I was making the offer to Flemmings not Ruffinos.

What is your experience Langland? Do you own a restaurant?

When it cam to amount of product used, Galatoire's, Redfish Grill, Mr B's, Commander's Palace, Emeril's, Antoine's, etc were all the biggest accounts. The biggest volume buyers were downtown New Orleans.
Ruffino's was probably the biggest account in Baton Rouge volume wise I would assume. Chimes/Parrain's may have done similar or more volume (especially combined). I don't think Ruffino's did the volume of some of the above New Orleans restaurants I mentioned but it was close.

He made sandwiches at Giamancos. And he might have been a line cook at Gino's.
I doubt he owns anything but a huge ego

Because Pluckers is wildly inconsistent with the quality of their wings
I've eaten at Pluckers more times than I care to admit, and out of all the wingeries, they have the biggest wings by far.

Can't recall ever getting dry, overcooked wings

I agree with everything you said about Pluckers... EXCEPT my go-to flavors are Dr. Pepper, Sesame, and Garlic-Parm
I've found that the majority of people who don't care for Pluckers are those who haven't found a flavor they really like. It took me a while to find some flavors that I really enjoy, but now that I have my visits are always consistently good.
Their chicken sandwich w/ the gravy and jalapeños is also legit, as are the sweet potato waffle fries... and they have the best sweet tea in town.

I went to Pluckers one time and ordered Dr Pepper wings, and I kid you not, the waiter told me:
"That shite's nasty. You should be ashamed of yourself"

Same thing happened to me. The waiter tried to talk me out of ordering it. I kindly told them to GTFO and bring me my Dr. Pepper Wings!!!

I used to like Pluckers, but I ate there a couple of weekends ago for the first time in a while. It was just expensive and kind of gross. ($50 something for an order of fried mushrooms, two meals and a round of drinks)

I'm ashamed to say that I wasn't born and raised in a restaurant, but I do have firsthand experience as a dishwasher, waiter, cook, and manager, including having spent time offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on an oil platform as a steward, which is basically the person in charge of the galley and housekeeping. As far as education, I have a BS in Marketing from LSU and I am a graduate of the Culinary Arts Institute of Louisiana and until recently, ServSafe certified.
