I bet workers just started saying they were ok because so many people wanted them. And corporate is just saying frick it.

Kinda like how other chains say they milkshake machine is down simply because they dont want to clean it.

Interesting thread. Had one Saturday and it was my first one ever. I just wanted to see what they hype was about.

Mind had little cheese and no tomatoes or sauce on it. It was a plain soggy tortill on top.

I honestly couldn't figure out why people were ordering these. After seeing the pics of what it is supposed to look like, I now realize that the real one might be good. The thing I got was not.

This was in Mandeville FWIW. The drive through was also only taking cash and not giving out receipts. Makes me think the three workers I saw in the store were probably pocketing all sales.

Speaking for myself here but I think people just have nostalgia for something they grew up eating and enjoying. Most of us went through times in college or whatever where Taco Bell was a treat. A welcomed respite from a Totino's pizza or a pack of Maruchan Oriental. I certainly don't have to eat a Taco Bell Mexican pizza. But I would probably hate myself if I ever started thinking I was too good to eat one.

I'm a big chili-cheese burrito fan, but I also enjoy the Mexican . Picked one up last week. It was made fresh and looked better than some of the pics. But for me, the new $4.99 price point is just too much for what it is. I remember buying these things at $2.29/$2.49/$2.99 and most recently $3.49 before they pulled it a couple years ago.

My SIL got one before it was pulled from the menu the first time. She said it gave her the squirts... I asked her if that the first time she had Taco Bell?

Tried one, it was ok at best. Seemed like it was undercooked.

The fact that people order fast food through these delivery apps blows my mind

Me too. Then complain how long it took or how the food was cold or the driver opened it and put his nose by it to smell it and God knows what else. Just go get your damn fast food. Have we become that lazy of a nation?
