Any love for Blues City Cafe on Beale?
I think the only bbq that Blues City serves is ribs. When I had them they were dry.
Rendezvous ribs didn't impress me either. I just wasn't a fan of dry rub being caked on after they come off the pit.
A&R, BBQ Shop, Germantown Commissary, & Central are all good.
But the best I've had is Cozy Corner. The ribs, rib tips, bbq bologna, & cornish hen are outstanding. Try to the bbq spaghetti as a side.
Go there for lunch. It's in a sketchy area, so they close before the sun goes down.

I agree, UNC. Sucks that this is the one place that has branched out and is "representing" Memphis BBQ in the southeast. Their drummies are money, though.

No, not Corky's, unless you really enjoy tourist spots. Central, The Bar-B-Q Shop, or Germantown Commissary are top picks. I've never been to Cozy Corner, but have heard that their rib tips and Cornish hens are delicious. Another favorite is Leonard's, on Fox Plaza, even though they use charcoal.

Corky's didn't even survive in Baton Rouge.

BBQ Shop is the answer. They are the best overall.

If you want BBQ Nachos, then Central BBQ is THE place to go.

I've been to both plentyyy of times as both are only a few minutes away from campus.

This is a no-brainer IMO. I would expect most people from Memphis is answer this way.
