I have a map torch I use in my Primo so I’d just use it on this one too.
Looks like they have a V2 now for the onboard temp controller as well.
lsujro look back in this thread and email me
I downvoted my own post with a fat finger

I'm getting them direct from MB as a distributor through a side gig, but I don't keep them in stock. Just helping out some TD folks. They will have the MB warranty you just go through them like normal.

Was gifted a 560 for Father's Day. Cooked burgers and sausage for first cook. The burgers turned out awesome - got just enough fire on the burgers cooking at 450 deg. Smoked ribs the next day using Malcolm Reed's method, and they turned out amazing. Best ribs I've ever made for sure (coming from mini fridge style box smoker). Big fan of the gravity so far.

I got the 1050 and it is great. My app works just fine, but this is the first time that I’ve had an app for my grill for what it’s worth. Have done smoked ribs, chicken sausage, and prime rib. All turned out great. I’m planning to do a brisket next.

I'm looking hard at a 1050. Alot of the post on Facebook that I read are nothing but problems. People are having to mod the shite out of them, just not to catch them on fire or clean them every few uses. Seems like out of the box it's not very user friendly

Meathead's site, amazingribs, updated their review for the 560 with this warning:

Doesn't sound great. I was pretty into getting one of these but will be holding off for now.
quote:
In the short time since publishing this review, we have encountered significant and disturbing quality issues with this product. The firebox at the bottom of the charcoal chute has warped badly, and buckled, and appears to have rusted through the inner layer, although as of now, the outer layers remains intact. Additionally, the fan that regulates air to the fire stopped working. We determined the cause was a faulty sensor switch.
Therefore, we are taking a step back to reevaluate the 560 and dropping our high rating to "Not Judged Yet". We will complete our reevaluation quickly as possible.

Yea it seems some fans stop and the rusting of the firebox are the main issues I see on a FB group. The app and controller software version have been updated and seem to work better. Not sure how wide spread it is since most people will go to FB or a forum to complain or look to resolve a issue. Ones that have no issue are not posting. But it is a cheaper new tec grill for them so it may have some quality issues. I’m going to get a 1050 to mess around with with this order. Buddy is getting a 560 so I’ll see first hand. Ordering mostly KJs

I read somewhere where MB says the firebox inner layer is designed to eventually disintegrate. Obviously that doesn't explain the fan issue. I also have no problems with the app - seems this was fixed with software updates. Also most of the mods are just people's preference - definitely not necessary to just cook. MB doesn't have the accessories that most of the big pellet smokers have yet, so people are making their own. I'm pretty pleased with mine out of the box so far.

I have read that and seen screen shots where MB has told people that its really there for shipping. Not sure I 100% believe that...but it makes me think that while it wasn't meant too...its not a big deal for function if it does.

I am sure there will be more opportunities
For the record i'm just waiting on the order form from my rep so i'll pull the trigger today if anyone wants to squeeze in.

Went to pick one of these up today on clearance at Walmart for $300. They had 2, so I grabbed them both in case anyone else in NOLA wants one.
If you’re looking for one, check several different Walmarts, because they all seem to have different prices.
