Attention all Shreveport residents and visitors, if you haven't been to Marilynn's Place in Shreveport on Fern I HIGHLY recommend it. One of the best meals I've ever had. It's a New Orleans style cuisine with entrees, po boys, salads, and desserts. The owner/manager was there and extremely nice.
Since we were first time visitors, we asked how the margaritas were. He gave us all free glasses for us to try. Also gave us complimentary beignets!
Anybody else love this place!?

It's on Fern Avenue bordering the golf course. The building is a converted car shop. Got alot of character and charm.

We love the place, too. I recommend the Sunday Brunch. Bottomless mimosas/bloody Mary's for $10 and some pretty tasty Mexican eggs and boudin and biscuits.
Roast beef poboy, shrimp remolaude poboys, pepper jack Mac and cheese- all awesome. Only thing I've ever had there that wasn't my favorite is their potato salad. I don't dislike it, it's just not my favorite.

I definitely recommend the shrimp remolaude poboy, it is unbelievable. The beignets are awesome, possibly better than cafe du monde. The owner is great and I highly recommend this place to anyone in Shreveport.

Not Robert, good try though. Just moved to Shreveport so I was seeing if everyone else had the same experience I did

That's a pretty ignorant post my man. Anyone who has been there would know how what the atmosphere of the owner/establishment is like. Just keep eating your shitty meals in Billsburg or wherever you are

overpriced and only mediocre food imo. calling it new orleans style is a knock on nola food. and i've never what can even be remotely be considered good service there.

One of the better places in town, although the food can be hit or miss. Service is always good for me, but they kinda know me now since we frequent so often.
Even though the food can be average at times, this is a place that should be supported by the Shreveport community, as they (Marilynn's Place) supports the community with having local artist play and hosting community parties/events.

The first time we went, I ordered the potato salad, and it was awesome. You could tell it was fresh.
Every time since then, it has been pretty bad. They changed something. They also changed their etouffee recipe, which at first was great, but now it's just like every other etouffee in town.

Place has a very cool atmosphere, and the owner is a terribly nice, passionate and accomidating guy.
The food... extremely "meh". I would actually say that I've never had a meal there that I truly enjoyed (eaten there probably 5-6 times while visiting my brother in Shreveport).
It's like someone who knows OF New Orleans style food, but doesn't really know how to make it. I will say that they do get fresh seafood, just the execution leaves A LOT to be desired in their dishes.

I've enjoyed it a couple times but never really think about it to go back often. It's a decent joint, but
