I prefer on the rocks without salt and no straw.

That's odd. The only people I consistently see drinking them on the rocks are women
You're a fricking Aggie. You will eventually learn that not everyone is like Aggies.

I won't eat watermelon without salt.
Same for cantaloupe.

On the rocks. I don't like frozen drinks

A margarita on the rocks can be high quality. A frozen margarita will always be low quality.

Nice Mexican restaurants only serve them on the rocks (Hugo's in Houston is an example). Frozen ones are great but they are the Americanized bitch version.

Not frozen, no rocks, go with straight up with a salted rim.

Make it on the Rocks with salt and add Grand Marnier for a real kick.

you cant possibly answer that question IMO without knowing how either style was prepared including the ingredients that went into them
if we are talking the same exact ingredients(tequila, orange ligueur, etc I would go rocks unless I am outdoors in Louisiana during the summer.

The other problem with the frozens that come from a machine is that you have no idea what gut rot they put in for tequila. That can get bad ..... real bad ......

I usually drink my margaritas without ice, salt, lime, or sweet and sour mix. Also, it's in a tiny glass.
