Manning's for the first time.

Went here yesterday, and it was just plain terrible. I don't understand how you can have a prime location, an incredible layout, and have crap food and even crappier service. Sat down at 3 pm for a late lunch. The place was not super crowded, but had a decent crowd with the games that were on. It took 20 min to get a draft beer and a sangria. Once the food arrived oysters on my poboy were cold and I'm not sure what the bread even was, but it was not French bread. Burgers looked like Sysco frozen patties and were fairly flavorless. I just think if they got a decent chef and changed up the menu a bit, that place could be fantastic. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Manning's reminds me of the #1 rule of dining in Italy: if it's in a prime location and/or has a view, it's guaranteed to be sub-par. The place has an endless stream of tourists going by, it doesn't need to cultivate repeat business. Hence the inferior food quality.

I concur! stopped in for a burger once and it didn't even compare to a Wendy's burger. absolutely horrible. It made me appreciate Walk Ons for a sports bar

You are right about that. Walk On's runs circles around Mannings in every way.
I ate at Mannings once several years ago and it was garbage. Stopped in about a year ago one afternoon and sat at the bar for 5 minutes waiting for someone to get me a beer. I could see that the bartenders didn't give a shite and were slow, so I went to Gordon Biersch.

We came within 30 seconds of walking out when it took so long for drinks. I think I would have felt better if we had.
