I'm with the OP on this one. Not a good brand of sausage and lots better out there for the same price or slightly higher.

Another that I've gone away from is Patton's. The last few times I've gotten their hot sausage, it was seriously greasy. I use to buy a good bit of Rouses store brand hot sausage, but the store near me can't seem to get the recipe right and it sometimes tastes nothing like hot sausage.

So, I bought a meat grinder and stuffer and now make my own. Problem solved.

Agree about the boil and I’ll add red beans and rice. Good smoked sausage doesn’t taste right in a boil. Richards is my go to for crawfish boils and red beans and rice. Everything else gets good quality smoked sausage.

hijacking the thread a bit...

thoughts on Savoie's or DD ?

I like the savoie's andouille and usually keep in the savoie brand for jambalaya making. (andouille, pork sausage, tasso...)

I just threw away half a pack of beef Manda.

Tried frying it in a skillet and on the grill, couldn't take it either way.

Was at the store and it's all they had... definitely not buying again no matter how bad I want sausage.
