Half drunk in Tiger Stadium with some mustard, not bad.
Not good in gumbo. No smoke.
On the grill with some chicken, it's okay.
Next to some Hillshire Farms, it's like A5 Wagu.

Perspective. If you've ever lived outside of Louisiana, you will appreciate Manda's.

They don't even charge extra for the bone fragments.

The company is family run by some good people. They hire some high risk workers, and help them with literacy and stability. They are an asset to Baton Rouge. Whatever you think about their products, they are good neighbors.

Agree. We are spoiled, and I ain't mad. I can't even name my favorite smoked sausage. There are so many good ones.

They would price themselves out of the market if they did

I can usually find it for sub $9 for 3 pounds, so if I’m buying 20-30 lbs for a benefit jambalaya or something I’m all over it. It’s good stuff. Sure, I prefer to have my pork sausage made from Mrs stacy in Utica, but if I’m running low on that, I’m buying manda for stuff that I’m donating or selling.

It's no secret. If you call Manda's they will either donate it, or greatly discount it for a worthy cause.

The worst food product in Louisiana, hands down.

Like it. Perfect for cheap quick dinner, I use it as about twice a month either with red beans or jambalaya. Easily fried in a pan with the quickness.

If you think that the sausage is bad don’t even think about trying their bacon.

I haven't found any of their products I would buy again.

Sadly, it’s probably better than most out of state smoked sausages.

The only Manda products I buy are the Cajun turkey and the roast beef for sandwiches.

I actually really like the hot pork sausage. Don't really care for many of their other sausages. Their regular pork sausage is my go to for crawfish boils...I don't really like to use great sausage to throw in a boil.

Have only eaten their mild smoked pork sausage. It does have some smoke flavor. It's ok and comparable to most of the other mass-marketed sausages (Double-D, etc).

IMO, it gets more hate than it deserves. OTOH, compared to the meat market sausages in LA, e.g., Rabideauxs, there's little reason to buy Manda.
