It definitely wasn’t easy!
Used ribeye sausage with pork ground meat for the meat wrap. Boiled eggs for 4 1/2 minutes. Used seasoned Pablo / bread crumbs. Deep fried in corn oil for +/- 4 mins!

Looking good. I need to try that breading next time I make them. Wasn't a huge fan of my crust last time I made them.
Also, try substituting the sausage with boudin. It's pretty tasty. Plus you don't have to actually worry about it fully cooking.

I make these quite often during the summer. I love thin sliced scotch egg on tomato sandwiches.
I don't bread mine or fry them. Simply take a hard boiled egg, wrap it in sausage, and then smoke them on the BGE.

Gawd, I love Scotch eggs. The now-closed Simone's Market on Oak St in NOLA had an awesome one when it first opened; for a while, it was buy-one, get-one-half-price at happy hour, which coincided with my commute. I ate many of those things while driving home.
How long did you cook the eggs, initially?

I've been wanting to try this. My main concern is peeling the soft boiled eggs. My fingers must not be delicate enough, because I break those bastards whenever I make them and try peeling.

Don't get me wrong because I like Scotch eggs. I've just never made them because the work to produce them outweighs the joy of eating.

20 years of 20-30 mile commute teaches you some valuable skills. Admittedly some were eating while waiting on the effing train at the Oak St crossing.
