It had been awhile since we had been, just as good as always

Little rice roll

Pink Lady and Boston Roll

Okinawa roll

Finished it up with some pinapple dipped in the leftover juice of the fresh wasabi

The finishing pineapple is a nice touch. I haven't been there in forever with Umami being open

We visited a couple of weeks ago, great food, many of the same rolls. It is a good idea to have reservations, the place doesn’t hold a lot of people.

He recognized us when we walked in the door and treated us right.

he used to come in the store when i worked at the gun shop and buy handguns from me. it was a giant pain in the arse to sell to him because he's an immigrant but he was so cool and polite that i didnt even care.

i let him hold an AR15 and he started laughing uncontrollably. he just couldn't believe that we were allowed to own them here "I feel very cool"

What's the story on this? Does he still own Sushi Yama? I haven't been since I stopped working there about 8 years ago. I know he always talked about opening a small restaurant that catered to small groups.

I find Umami is great for other dishes, but I like Yama a lot more when it comes to sushi.

I really love how Umami has daily specials and it's always interesting stuff.
