I had a very enjoyable lunch at Boudreu & Thibodeaus on Tuesday of this week.

A party of 4.
1 had the shrimp poboy .
1 had the roast beef poboy.
1 had a burger.
I had the redfish couvillion.

All of the food looked great, everyone enjoyed, service was great.

One of my favorites for burgers is walk ons. Off the hook has really good burgers.Rouses down the street used to make some good ones, I haven't bought a sandwich there in a while. The lunches are good.
Now and then I check out the cafeteria at Terrebonne General Medical Center for a good lunch. Good looking nurses in there dont hurt either.

Best Lunch spot in Houma hands down is TARC.

Only bad thing is you have to go to the East Side

ETA, their Roast Beef is better and much cheaper than Mr. Poboy or Griffins.

So I grabbed a half oyster, half shrimp poboy from Mr. PoBoy with a fry.

$20

It was a good poboy and I get Oysters are expensive this year, but that's crazy expensive.

Someone else recommended a burger at Liberty Cafe, but it would be $15.

I can't afford to live in Houma

Go to TARC, a roast beef is under $7, you can get a roast beef with fries and drink for under $10.

Listen to Ched. TARC is good, cheap lunch.

Big Mike's burger is good but overall it sucks. But Houma has basically no other BBQ.
Griffin's is salty as hell and also sucks.
French Loaf is closed.
Mr. Poboy, as you learned, is super expensive. Their roast beef can be really salty also.
531 Liberty (Liberty Café) is good, but caters to the rich folk Dr's and lawyers that basically all work around there. Same with the other downtown restaurants.
Castalano's is pretty good and not overly expensive. Generally $10 sandwich/burger with side, and $12 dinners with side.

GOOD cheap food from a restaurant in Houma is basically non-existent.

Let me add.

The 2nd best "roast beef po-boy" in a beef torta from the taco stand across from the East Houma library. Its beef meat cooked on a griddle served on a bun. They dress it with mayo, lettuce, avocado and tomato. For $5, it cant be beat.

True that. The Eastside sucks arse, but it's got all the best lunch spots that are cheap and not chain BS/fast food.

ETA. Need to brush up on spanish when on that side of town.

I was in Houma during lunch today and took some guys to the La Casa Del Sol from a recommendation.

Excellent Mexican cuisine is all I can say. I had the Happy Burrito with the chili sauce from said recommendation. Chili sauce, salsa, chips, burrito, and queso were all exceptional.

It must’ve changed a lot cause I’m from Houma and that place has always been low grade dog food to me.
Boudreaux and Thibodeaux’s seems touristy, but everything I’ve ever had from there was good.

There's a 50's vibe place that's pretty good. The owner has a lot of classic cars parked next door. I want to say it's either on St. Charles or Hollywood. Been a while since I've been there.
