Trimtab is a good one here in Birmingham. I used to think Good People were making the best here but that has slowly transitioned to Ghost Train and Trimtab. I love the 16oz DIPAs that Trimtab has been putting out. Hop bombs and delicious but they’ll sneak up on you. If they have them down there give them a shot. Not sure how the distribution is on those.

Good People still makes good beer, but they never really got on the hazy/New England IPA trend. They've started doing some more recently, but Trim Tab's are still a LOT better. I'd also add District Brewing and Ferus to your list of Bham breweries making great beer.

I'd imagine the only Trim Tab beers LA is going to get are their flagship ones that are brewed and packaged by Abita. Their regular IPA and the Paradise Now Berliner Weisse. I'd avoid the IPA, but the Paradise Now is solid. I doubt LA will get many of the smaller batch hazy IPA's or imperial sours Trim Tab has grown to be known for.

Good. Too much of that style taking up space on store shelves these days. All the Louisiana breweries jumped on that train and can’t seem to find a well made West Coast IPA from in-state breweries these days that can simply be picked up at a Rouse’s or such.

Thankfully in the Houston area some of the local breweries figured out the novel idea to put forth effort on both styles, and it’s enjoyable options to have.

We got Echo in the Abyss & Expanded Spectrum IPAs and Oceans & Orchards, Angry Totem and Sour Punch sours in cans over here in the first drop we got from TrimTab.

Well damn, I stand corrected. That is pretty much all the recent smaller batch ones they did.

That Echo In the Abyss is fantastic. I'm kind of burned out on their sours though, but the Oceans & Orchards was pretty good.

The standard IPA at Good People is always good. I tend to forget about it, but every now and then I'll grab a pack and tell myself I should get this more often.

It wasn't in distro but Gnarly made an excellent WCIPA back around Easter called "He Is Resin". If you can get your hands on one, do it.

Had each of these this weekend. Excellent beers. The Echo was particularly delicious.

Awesome they did that style and did it well, but like another poster above, I don’t have the need, desire or time to chase beers. There’s nothing in Hammond I need that would require me to be in that direction.

So it would be nice if some LA breweries could put some good WC and traditional/non-joose! styles in distribution on the shelves. St Arnold, Eureka Heights, and even hayze bro Spindletap in Houston have all been able to do that, and it’s nice to be able to grab while simply knocking out regular grocery shopping.
