Essence festival has taken over New Orleans and I'm looking to take my family to an excellent Italian Restaurant.

looking to leave in about an hour or so.

We're on the Northshore...Any suggestions?

willing to travel 30 miles East West or North

Thanks

Dude, as long as you aren't downtown the crowds won't be a problem.

Vincents on St. Charles or in Metairie are good as is Faustos in Metairie.

Agreed with above statement. Just stay out of downtown. Also call wherever you decide to go because many places close for the weekend of essence.

Sal and Judy’s on Northshore.

Impastatos in Metairie by lakeside mall. Literally right off bridge.

Nephews in Metairie on Clearview and West Metairie

Rizzutos in Lakeview on Fleur De Lis.

I've heard good things about Boscos in mandeville, but I think it's more casual.

There's a place in downtown ponchatoula called Ristorante Foodies that they say is pretty good.

Impastato's in Metairie behind Lakeside Shopping Center. Dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday. Good eats and drinks.

Sal n Judy’s but wait until the evening.

May try Mandina’s off of Causeway and Hwy 22.

Bosco’s is good.

Gio’s Villa Vincheri is a hidden gem in a new location in Mandeville by the lakefront. I’m not sure of his hours for a late lunch, however.

Still haven't left yet...

Some one also recommended Coscinos?

but it's casual not high end.

Sal and Judy's is most excellent and a no brainer. Don't bother with anything else.

Sal & Judy's is the best Italian restaurant in the state... why would you consider anything else?

I'd sure like to know who the down-voters think is better.

When you do come to the southshore go try Italian Barrel. In my opinion, it's the best authentic Italian place in the area.
