One tip for the recipe: the instructions say to place a layer of cookies on the bottom and put the bananas on top of that. Ignore that and put half the pudding on top of the base layer of cookies. Then put the bananas on top of that, and cover with the rest of the pudding. This completely covers the bananas in pudding and prevents them for turning brown.
I do cookie, banana, pudding, cookie, banana, pudding. Sometimes i'll spread a very thin layer of pudding on the bottom before putting the cookies down, but not all the time. Gets a good distribution throughout each bite instead of too much of any one thing and keeps everything completely covered by the pudding.

Well after getting all of these awesome suggestions, I’m not very proud to say that she requested just some Blue Bell butter pecan ice cream... So I got a half gallon of that.
But I’ll definitely be making a couple of these soon

I like to mash the strawberries with sugar and a tiny amount of water to mix work the berry juice, then spoon it over the cake. Angel food or yellow cake slices. I’m not a yellow cake fan, but this is one time it’s good to use. Then top slice with whipped cream. I like to make the very mixture so it sits a while. Grandmas recipe.
