It will be a gift. I’m not very knowledgeable about Scotch so I’m looking for advice from the F&D Board.
TIA

I had this Glenlivet 14 yesterday and enjoyed it. There are a lot of good options under $80. Some of my faves in that price range are:
-Tomatin 12 French Oak
-Singleton 18
-Any of the GlenFarclas
The key here is taste profile. You have the ones with a lot of sherry (Macallan), those that are peaty (generally the one from Islay), as then more oaky (generally Glenlivets and such). If you know a profile preference that can help narrow it down.

I hadn't bought a bottle in a couple years, but it was $79 last time I did. Sucks if that's changed like a lot of bourbons.

May be a little out the range but I really like this stuff. High proof too.

Just wanted to add this about the Glenlivet 14
quote:
After maturing in bourbon and sherry cask for many years, The Glenlivet 14YO is finished in ex-cognac casks to bring a rich and intense flavor.
