His obit:

quote:

Clark Stephen Marter, 61, of Kenner, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents the late Ralph Marter and Ethel Clark Marter, his sister Lauren Marter, his niece Kimberly Irwin, and his faithful pet, Frank. Clark is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Hingle Marter, his daughter Melanie Schad(Shane), his sons Steven and Dustin Marter, and his stepchildren Shelley Rodriguez and Glynn Romagosa, Jr.(Rachel). In addition to his children, Clark also leaves behind his sister Kerry Billedeau, his brother Ralph Marter, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family. Clark was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 25, 1956. He enjoyed traveling, fine dining, and spending time with his devoted wife Kathleen and their 2 cats, Harry & Sammy. A great nephew of the late bandleader Harry James, Clark adored big band music and playing his trumpet. He loved to work and was a truck driver for Saia Motor Freight Line from 1984 to 2013. His trucking career went hand in hand with his love of local cuisine. Known to listeners as "The Gourmet Truck Driver", Clark was a frequent caller on WWL's The Food Show with Tom Fitzmorris. He lived his life to the fullest and will be missed dearly. Relatives, friends, and former coworkers are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Tuesday morning, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:00. Burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery, Waggaman. An online guestbook is available at www.tharpsontheimer.com. Roll Tide!
Apparently a Bama fan. Now I like him less.

Thanks for sharing. He would mention Nick Saban and Alabama football during his calls in the fall. I remember one day he called and told Tom it was Saban’s birthday.

Guy is and always has been a sycophantic cretin. NO food scene is better off without him, although it’s nice that he’s been reduced to complete irrelevance now that they bumped him to the 2 soup cans and a string station. And yet he continues to crow about how long his tedious and non-creative program (FOOD show, EAT club) has stayed on the air.

Sorry, I’m a TF hater

This makes no sense. He is the only person in the metro area doing anything of the sort, and has been doing only good to promote NOLA restaurants and chefs. It may be in its twilight. But when Tom no longer brings his voice to the airwaves, we’ll all miss him. He’s a New Orleans culinary institution. There will be awards and festivals named after him. He is a living legend.

Now apologize.

She’s having some intense and frequent hot flashes the last couple of days. I don’t think she is taking her Geritol either.

I thought it was disgusting how he spoke about Tom. Regardless if you’re a fan or not, he doesn’t deserve to be spoken about in that manner.

Even though he can be a shill, Tom does provide some useful news and info. He’s not as knowledgeable as he thinks in some cases.

True...you’re right about the useful news and info part.
