Has anyone tried adding the boil boosters to your boil? Are they any good?

Couldn’t taste a different for the garlic one, and the lemon one added the ever so slight taste of artificial lemon so I wasn’t a fan. Haven’t tried the herb one or the spicy one.

Did you add one or two for the garlic one?

I agree I opened up each of them and smelled and tasted them. The only one I thought was worth it was the lemon zest one...I would still skip it. I just add onion powder, garlic powder, and cut lemons to my water.

a pound of fresh lemons is less money than one bag of "boil booster"

Zesting each lemon before cutting, squeezing, and adding them works pretty good.

We read about zesting on here last year and tried it, but didn’t pick of a different from from just squeezing. I do agree though that tossing them in without squeezing doesn’t seem to do enough.

I’ve heard lemon oil is insanely potent.

Blend it all - the whole lemon... Zest and all. Freeze it.

Drop it in for soak. Brings the water temp down, AND you can actually taste a lot of lemon. I do 4 lbs, but that is probably overkill...

So you just drop lemons whole in a blender and freeze the results?
