Light roast Coffee

River Road Coffe Co. “Acadian”. While a medium roast, is pretty light and a great breakfast cup.

If so, find Cafeciteaux in the coffee isle. They aren’t everywhere, but Alexander’s, Calandros etc have them. Whole Foods has a good selection of Louisiana roasted coffee like Reve from Lafayette. Just read the descriptions. Most of of those companies single sourced coffees are light to medium roast, it just depends on your flavor profile that you’re looking for.

Titan is another locally produced one to BR, but they do blends of beans.

In my opinion, if you want just a cheap light roast you can get one of the River road coffees. If you want a good bean from say Brazil, Ethiopia etc then go one of the local small roasters. For instance, River Road has some of the better beans. I’d prefer more attention to detail and to support the small local guys. Not that River Road isn’t local, but they make their money on ground coffee.

They sell whole beans too.

Go single origin as opposed to blends and I tend to prefer natural to washed process.

I was in New Orleans for xmas and really liked Hey Coffee and French Truck. Wanted to try Congregation roasters but never made it over.
