None of the foods are bad per se but they are overrated:

Kale
Quinoa
Avocado
Waygu Beef
Ranch Dressing
Birthday cake flavored things
Cauliflower doing things it shouldn't be (pizza crust, masqueraded as a buffalo wing) etc.

It's more of why would I cook catfish when I can cook/grill something much better like redfish, trout, halibut, cod, anything else.

But yeah you are right, I don't know how to cook fish.

I was coming in here to put cauliflower rice and spaghetti squash noodles...

I mean yea healthy....BUT you people trying to pass it off as the real thing (or as good as the real thing) are freaking nuts.

Lobster is the right answer

It was considered shite food that we used to feed prisoners

How it became considered a delicacy is beyond me

Because there was an over abundance and they cooked them dead.

People finally had fresh boiled lobster that wasn’t hard shelled and dead. The best lobster can’t even be shipped too far out from where it was caught and it’s sweeter.

I have had lobster all up and down the coast

Just does nothing for me

If I want expensive seafood, I will eat crab which is 100x better than lobster

And that’s fine. I’m just clarifying the difference between lobster that the poors age back in the day and the stuff now. They were eating shite that washed up along the shore.

Your honesty is admirable!

I agree with you though! Just don't want to completely diss catfish!

I'd say catfish is definitely one of the most incorrectly done foods. Overrated I guess in a sense that it is served a ton of places, but I don't know many that really have catfish rated extremely high as some type of great food.

Most places just think if its fried, it'll be good. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done, but I agree with you, done properly it is a tasty fish.

My contribution to the thread would be basil, though I know it isn't a "food" in the main sense of the thread.

Don't get me wrong, it is fine and can be used well. I cannot stand the current trend of serving everything with basil on it as a garnish or using it to finish. There are just so many better ones. Oh look how fancy my pizza is, I have basil leaves on it.

OVERRATED foods

Anything in a Thanksgiving Day spread. If only they would have had at least one paisan on the Mayflower.

Aioli - it's garlic flavored mayo. Not some super exotic ingredient.

Granted, it's delicious, but way over-hyped on the menu.

I agree to an extent, but I also have a general rule if I'm somewhere I'm not familiar with and not sure what to order, go with the dish that has aioli in it, it will be solid

And it’s fricking delicious. You’re mad at the marketing aspect of it.

The one at top golf is bomb BTW

Everything food wise I've gotten at Top Golf has been really good. It really surprised me. I didn't necessarily think the food would be bad, just nothing to shake a stick at. That has been the biggest surprise of going to one.

Their food is solid. I’ve always been happy when eating there. Good burgers, great flatbread pizza, pretty good wings, etc.
