My last cigar of 2021 was a God of Fire, and it was a huge letdown. Thankfully I purchased it with a gift card.

I’ll make up for it today with a good ole AF Casa Cuba.

So it's been awhile since I posted to this thread. If you read any of my last few posts going back, just rinse and repeat. I have a somewhat solid rotation unless someone gives me something different to smoke.

Going back to Dec. 30 through the Cold:
Rocky Patel Fumas shade toro
Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary sungrown toro
El Rey del Mundo Robusto Larga

New Year's Eve
Perla del Mar Shade super toro.
Rocky Patel sungrown petit corona...these are still great, hadn't had one in a long time.
Ave Maria Argentum Perfecto for the last hour of 2021 and first hour of 2022.

Had an Ave Maria Immaculata belicoso on the 1st, nothing since, too damn cold for me.

Hope my Brothers of the Leaf here have had a joyous and blessed Christmas season and will have a prosperous New Year.

Long Ashes,
Tommy

Ave Maria

Criminally underrated sticks from them. I took the day off today to test out some new backpacking equipment, but all I’ve done is smoke cigars Started with a La Aroma de Cuba this morning and now smoking an Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua.

Sorry for the down vote, fat fingered on the phone. I have been wanting to try an Aging Room, those are made by AJF for a guy Rafael Nodal.

I finally tried out one of the sticks from the Dec Privada Farm Rolled box that I have a subscription to.

Whatever cigar #3 was, it was amazing.

Nobody here asked for this, but here's my 2021 year in review.

Best Cigar I smoked:
Ashton VSG - I've had this cigar before, and since and it wasn't the same. Something about this one particular cigar - at the time - was the best, most relaxing cigar ever.
Runner up:
Padron 1926. Easily the best constructed cigar I've had this year. Again, the stars aligned that day for this one to be among the best ever.

Cigar of the year:
My Father - The Judge. Price, Construction, Flavor, this cigar had everything I wanted and more.
Runner up:
Arturo Fuente's Don Carlos. Not a damn thing wrong with this cigar.

Best Wednesday smoke:
Arturo Fuente's 8-5-8 Maduro - It's nothing special, it's cheap. Nothing wrong with it at all.
Runner up:
Padron 2000 Natural - Same as above

Best quick smoking small cigar:
AVO Classic Puritos - good flavor and construction
Runner up:
Perdomo Champagne Puritos - Construction can be iffy, and the taste can be bitter but the price is good.

Most Overrated:
Drew Estate Undercrown Maduro - I probably have smoked a box of these over the last year. I like the initial flavor, but build quality is too inconsistent. I think a lot of flaws are overlooked because it's only $7.50/per. I think the Liga Privada no 9 and T52 are also overrated.
Runner up:
Arturo Fuente's Opus X. Wait. I love everything AF makes. Opus X is a good cigar. It IS a good cigar. It's insanely overpriced. You could buy two Don Carlos for what you pay for one Opus X, and Opus X is no where near being twice as good.

Best Brands?
Arturo Fuente, Padron, My Father have all really kicked arse this year. Perdomo as well.

Nicaragua has replaced Cuba, at least in my opinion, as the king of cigar tobacco.

Just saying, your picks are pretty cliched.

Oh look another Ashton VSG/Padron 1926/My Father, etc post.

Any cigar lounges or good places to smoke in Metairie? Especially for these chilly days. How’s Mayan Import? I’ve only been to the NOLA location.

What crawled up your arse, lol?!

This thread is about sharing our smokes, old favorites, new cigars, etc. I don't understand why you crapped on the guys list. I certainly appreciate the effort and compiling the list as he did. But hey, you do you!

They’re industry standards for a reason. I personally don’t like Ashton much, but Padron and My Father are undeniably two of the best this past year. Literally just pick one from them and you’ll be very satisfied.
