$25 at my local B&M. Hope this is worth it. I’ve heard great things.

ETA: 1/3 boring. Not a lot of flavor, creamy tobacco and hints of wood. Burning slowly and evenly though. Well constructed, but takes two puffs to get a good amount of smoke.

2/3 earthiness gives way to some citrus and floral notes. Nothing too groundbreaking. Still very smooth. I’ve been accidentally inhaling a lot of the smoke as it sits on the ashtray and I’m getting blasted

3/3 nothing changes. Didn’t finish it through as it’s getting too hot outside in direct sunlight. Don’t really get the hype for this one. Maybe it’s just me.

Really? I love it personally, but I am as amateur as it comes regarding cigars. With that said, of all the ones I have had this is my 2nd favorite behind the Partaga No 4 Habana that my friend gets for us. Again, the number of cigars I have tried is miniscule to long time smokers.

Plasencia has been making cigars for other people his entire career. What you have there is the "new" or one of the "new" lines he has created for himself with his own label on it. He's mighty proud of those; I'm not paying $25.00 for a cigar. Cigars are for my enjoyment, they're my way of enjoying life and relaxing, my cope with a life that is not, necessarily, where I would have chosen to be. Can't do that if I'm shelling out an exorbitant amount of money on a single cigar.

I recently have tried the Kristoff brand. The maduro is good, the Cameroon is phenomenal, I even struggle with the idea of a nearly $10.00 on a regular basis. But these are worthy, give them a shot.

Cigar Page has become my go-to purchasing site, they're usually the lowest priced of any online vendor. They have a brand called Florida Man that is really really good. They are a high-end bundle, with bundles of 20 in the $70-$75 range, however, sign up for e-mails and look for the sales. This is a fantastic brand, the Santiago size, so far, is the best in the lineup, they have a beautiful Salomon, but it's not as good as the Santiago.

Last night started with a La Galera Habano el Lector, finished with a Villazon maduro toro from C.I. Villazon and Ave Maria are all I buy from CI, now.

Wow, I can't believe you actually went through all 103 pages.
It finally warmed up a little bit here in DFW to get back out for a smoke and brown water.

I love your determination!

I've been buying up some lots on cigarbid getting ready for the Spring season. I have been burning a few at some parades (I finished off my Carillos), so I'm priming up.

My cigarbid buys so far have been a mix of boutique singles (Tatuaje, RomaCraft, Peppin Carcia) to see which I like in order to seek boxes of. I also grabbed a few packs of Graycliffs and a box of La Herencia Cubana CORE. So far I've spent on average $3.50 per stick, and my current haul is at 68 sticks.

One 5pack that I'm very excited to try is of the Southern Draw Rose Of Sharon. Apparently this is an absolute banger. I've seen some perfect 100 scores from what I've read.

I did take advantage of the February sales page on ihavanas to grab a box of Freud - LE Collab 2023 The Disruptor Sigmund, which is created by the former master blender of Davidoff. These are very highly regarded from all that I've researched, and they normally are $400-450 for a box of 10 depending where you look. iHavanas has them on sale for $255 right now until the end of the month. I'm super excited to try this one.

I love Katman's reviews. Dude is quite funny, and he does good breakdowns of flavors.

Here is CigarHound giving a great review of that Rose of Sharon stick. And Katman is one who gives it a perfect 100 score

Bump an old thread.

I've started to keep a list. Basically since I smoke a cigar and then forget about it.

I've learned to retrohale.

I must not have as refined tastes as others, but I enjoy what I think is chocolate, and favorite flavor profile is pepper (as strong as I can get)

I'm not a huge fan of Katman. I never know if he is reviewing a cigar, or a porn film.

Anyway, I most enjoy AJ Fernandez, Pepin, Espinosa and cigars in that arena.

I see Erik Espinosa at an Italian social club I frequent in Florida in the winter.

I recently rediscovered Padron cigars. In an odd twist, their naturals are more peppery than their maduro.

Here is my list. It's not all inclusive becuase it's a recent creation with ongoing additions and edits.

The most recent cigar that I've rediscovered is the AJ Laranja Reserva Escuro. There are actually three, the Laranja Reserva, Laranja Reserva Escuro, and Laranja Azulejo, and if I recall correctly they are all very, very good. Inexpensive when on sale also.

I smoke daily, and many days have 2 or 3.

Someone told me once, and it holds true with a lot of things other than cigars, that a good cigar is a cigar you enjoy.

Yeah I get it, but that's what I like about it. Dude is weird and funny. I'm a sucker for stupid toilet humor.

I was able to try that Rose of Sharon over the weekend at a cigar lounge, and it was fantastic. My order arrived, but I'm letting it sit and age for a little bit before touching them. This is definitely a box buy for me though. I'm probable going to order one soon.

Southern Draw is another cigar where AJ collaborated. Which means I'll try it. I looked and they are a bit more difficult to get.

How long do you let your cigars rest after arrival?

I'll will say Katman generally likes more bold flavored cigars, so I do pay some attention. My understanding is he has had some health issue, is older, and doesn't post new reviews. I'm not sure.

Reviews are helpful to an extent, but eventually I need to smoke the cigar to make my personal decision.

I forget what I had this morning, but it's on the list above. I just lit a LFD Chapter 1. My concern is that it seems to be slightly over humidified.

I'm not sure how that happens. I have a refrigerator humidor, and two Tupperdors. I suppose I probably have at least 100-200 cigars on hand, and another 20-25 down in Florida.

I try to give them a month, but I'll get impatient at about 2 weeks. For more expensive sticks I'll forget about them for at least 3 months in my tupperdor. I'm still an amateur in this game as I only started getting into cigars about 3 years ago. Recently I've been getting more into them though and learning more about it all. I've been a 1 stick every couple of weeks smoker, but now I'm a few a week.
