Never been but a buncha pansies in here. If you can't look at a picture of average american food without needing a trip to the bathroom then you are the one with a problem, not the average bland restaurant. grow a pair.

Good morning FDB. Please help yourself to some delicious Goldan Corral breakfast. We will switch the buffet over to lunch at 11am.

I grew up going to GC with my Grandparents. I didn't die. I never shipped my pants. I am not overweight now.

I don't eat there anymore. But when the wife and I have kids I imagine will be hit up CiCi's the GC of pizza like its our job.

Like I said GC's quality varies by location. You just happen to have a shitty GC that you go to.

the fact that even know people that want to eat at these type establishments really annoys me.

I hope that is the biggest annoyance in your life. If so, you have it pretty darn good.

But the entire group even acknowledged that it's pure bland garbage.

Simple, Quit going. The GC by my house and close to the office has very good, tasty food. I would rather go there for lunch and get a piece of meatloaf, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, fried fish, mac&cheese, mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, chili, etc. etc. etc. for $11 then pay $7 for a combo meal at a fast food place.

If I take one bite of something and it doesn't live up to my lowly expectations I can move on to the next item - including the taco bar, pizza, shrimp(cooked a few different ways) wings, soups, salad bar or desert table. I have only tried maybe a third of the food at the one by my house and the only thing I haven't liked is if it is not busy the fish may be cold.

How is this thread possible without a picture of the glorious Chocolate Wonderfall?

Speaking of buffet breakfast, are there any more Shoney's?

I don't know if it is a good thing or not, but when talking about food I don't like or refuse to eat the list is very, very short. I think it is a good thing, but reading this board you wouldn't think so.

Liver is the only thing I can think of right now that I can't eat, I have tried many times and think it smells great but just can't do the taste - and yes they have liver and onions at my GC. One of my co-workers gets it (a lot of it) every time we go.

Yes. However, I ask that we keep this discussion focused on Goldan Corral.

Looks awesome but I have never tried it. I am on a banana pudding kick right now and love their peanut butter cookies. Before that I used to get an ice cream cone with the chocolate liquid that forms a hard shell on ice cream, topped with peanuts.

I do enjoy eating at Bay Leaf while watching busloads of morbidly obese people waddle into the Golden Corral. That place is packed all day.

The people that judge their food by quantity rather than quality. My brother is one of those. It's the portion size that matters most to him. I'd rather have a small portion of something really good.

Probably shouldn't say this on here, BUT:

Our lunch choices Wednesday came down to chinese buffet, Genghis Grill or CiCi's. The good looking chick won out and we wound up at CiCi's. My favorite thing there is the cheese bread. I cover it with the spaghetti sauce and top it off with lot of Parmesan cheese. The gooey cinnamon rolls are decent also.

Must be getting close to lunch time when you can have fond memories of eating at Cici's.

I used to live in Las Vegas and have been to many buffets there... good ones too like Bachannal, Studio B and Wicked Spoon

Honestly all buffets are the same to me. Bachannal, Wicked Spoon, Carnival, not much of a step up from Golden Corral. The main difference is the made to order/premium offerings like carving stations and seafood. But the shite in the warming trays and desert bar? Same everywhere.

Not a big fan of buffets. The appeal is that it's all you can eat and many options, but if I want to eat a lot of food I'll just buy a lot of higher quality food of a single genre at one place instead of mix and match various Lower quality offerings

A guilty pleasure. Load up a medium bowl and build a broccoli wall around the sides for maximum fillage. Add extra udon noodles, shrimp and an egg and I have enough for lunch and take home for dinner.

One of the guys from work has had people take pictures of him and his bowls when he takes them to be cooked. He can make a stack that is 1 1/2 to 2 times as tall as the bowl. He does it fast too. I don't even try because it would take too long.

It's nice that they have it, but just have to ask why a place like this would even bother with sugar free desserts? I can't imagine those get many takers.

You'd be surprised at how many people out there will eat 4 plates of mashed potatoes and mac n cheese while washing it down with an entire liter of diet coke but stick to the "sugar free" apple pie because they are pre-diabetic.

I don't think I have ever been to a Golden Corral. They just built a new one by my work and it is always packed.
