Pro's vs Con's? Is there a big difference? Is it a waste of time to squeeze fresh lemons?

Your thoughts

IDK why people lemon anything in boiled crawfish. All a waste IMHO. My ingredient list looks like:

Liquid crab boil
cayenne
salt
corn
potatoes
crawfish

mushrooms if you fell like mixing it up a bit

Everything else is just to be different because absolutely perfect crawfish can be had with the above. Again, IMHO.

I like to throw in my LEGO Millennium Falcon wrapped in bacon for the sake of being different.

I tend to agree with you though

I use some lemon concentrate and a bunch of halved lemons. I like the aroma and the addition of citrus to it. Just my taste. Some people do oranges etc.

I use lemon halves, but honestly I think the only reason I do it is b/c that is the way my dad did it. 7-8 lemons prob dont change the flavor of 60 quarts of water much, but they do look pretty contrasted with the red crawfish on the table

You would boil off some of the oils in the skin of the lemon.

Im sure there are preservatives in the bottled stuff too.

Is a bag of lemons really more expensive?

Not sure what is more expensive...I am just cooking about 500 LBS next weekend and was thinking it would be quicker to pour in lemon juice than slicing and squeezing 120 Lemons.

See those two O's? I like lemon, garlic, celery, and sausage in my crawfish. My opinion of a perfect boil is no less valid than yours.

I thought the lemon juice was mainly to help make the crawfish easier to peel.

No sir...it's for flavor.

I do some of each, but mostly fresh squeezed.
