what does the music have to do with the food

Best may be overstating it but they make a mean brisket burrito.

Check out the one they built in Dallas. It's fricking ridiculous.

I just had huge arse bbq shrimp while watching the doors on a music video on all the screens

Yeah the one in DFW opened on cinco de mayo and it's huge
I heard they've already been ticketed twice for noise violations
Also I heard the food sucks. They say they are Mexican Cajun food. Pick one and try to perfect it vs doing both half arse

Anyone surprised that they've lasted this long in Perkins Rowe? By several accounts on here the place is subpar and I'm sure rent ain't cheap. Think it's been open over 5 years now.

OP is proof the margaritas are too strong

Not really considering the location

Some places don't last location notwithstanding. Just seems like the draw there are the live music acts and not the food. Wonder how long can they sustain their success with below average food.

As long as the nurses and people right down the road on Bluebonnet keep going for margaritas after work

Gotta be hurting Mi Padre's and Casa Maria business

Their rice is Uncle Ben's microwave rice. Get out more.

Their brunch isn't... terrible, but everything else is.
It's the affliction t-shirt of restaurants.

Spot on.
The atmosphere and food of lava cantina is terrible.

Every time I've been, the quality of the food has gotten better. But it's still mediocre. God bless them for trying.

Velvet Cactus literally eats and shits out Lava Cantina.
