How have y’all s experiences been with these?

I do almost all my cooking on a sheet pan, skillet, or Dutch oven and generally don’t buy these countertop cooking appliances. I live in an apartment though and my oven is fine, but a little inconsistent.

Are these good for making home fries and such or are they best for reheating frozen foods? Does brand matter?

My son is home from college and has recently got into cooking. He made the best fried chicken I've ever had the other day in the air fryer. Makes delicious nuggets and home fries as well. He uses that damn thing all day.

We got one as an attachment to the instapot, it's pretty damn good. Delicious chicken thighs or strips. It works well with pork loin cutlets. Home fries as well.

I tried it with burgers and that was one case where I wouldn't recommend an air fryer, those turn out way better in a cast iron.

Attachment to instapot? What’s that about? Sounds awesome.

Amazon Link It's this one, it just sits over the instapot chamber and turns it into an air fryer.

How long and at what temp do you cook it?

He said 400 for 20 minutes “I think.” Somewhere in that neighborhood I would say.

A convection toaster oven is also over double the price. Do you have one? Do you like it?

I was never that impressed with anything I made in mine and ended up giving it to my sister. I mostly didn't like how much counter and shelf space it took up when I have a toaster oven with a convection oven setting.

We ended up getting the Ninja one that flips u when you are done with it for just this reason. Replaced our old toaster oven and toaster with this one appliance. We really enjoy ours.

I just posted in another thread about toaster convection ovens. I use my Breville smart oven constantly. If it broke tomorrow, I'd replace it immediately. Can do anything an air fryer does, plus behaves like a regular oven, only smaller. Mine holds a 12" pizza pan, standard quarter sheet pan, 12 cup muffin tin, loaf pan, etc. Many air fryers won't hold standard size pans and/or are weird shapes.

Yes, I have the Cuisinart. It's worth the price to me for aesthetics alone. But I have a 20 month old and whipping up some fish sticks, veggies, etc. in minutes is so much better than waiting for a regular toaster oven or our regular oven. It can cook a whole pizza, whole chicken, or toast 9 slices of bread at the same time too which is great for family gatherings/holidays when oven space is at a premium. Don't have a double oven so this is basically the same thing.
