What's Food and Drink local opinions?
Do you ever go there?
Is it for tourist?
Where would you go instead?

Sis in law goes there. I'm not actually for it. She's from Houston and usually goes with her Houston peeps.

It's fun on a weeknight or day drinking. Best hurricane in the city, IMO.

You either love or hate Lafitte's Blacksmith Shoppe. It's rowdy and full of very obnoxious and drunk people. There's a lot of smoking and loud music.
If somebody isn't comfortable in a loud, rowdy bar, don't bring them.

Not yet, but will be on Friday.

I'm thinking of a few different places to go and Lafittes wasn't on my list.

I'm in search for FD opinion.

Go talk to the big boy down at the end of the bar with the thick rimmed black glasses who's drinking the beam and Diet Coke. Interning cat.

I like the bar. I know a lot of locals who go there frequently. It's also where the party starts for the non-runners on Red Dress Run day.

Agree 100%. Isn't it the oldest running bar in the country or something? If your coming to NOLA, just stop in to get a purple daq, just so you can chalk it up as a historic spot you checked out.

I'll go and buy a drink to check off bucket list.
If it's really even on there.

Where should I go and check out Bacchanal Wine or Bullet Proof?

Barrelproof?

I'd do Bacchanal, you must like wine though.

Deadly is right. They tried to call 911 last time I was at Lafittes. Had been at Galatoires friday lunch before so I was good and lit before I got a purple drink and a shot of Jameson. Bad, bad idea.
