Down here with my wife visiting family right now. Why do new restaurants that barely make it pa few years keep opening? And it's the same types of food, nothing innovative or new.

Lafayette isn’t a large city, that being said there are ~8 good restaurants (of various styles of food) on one street (Jefferson St) downtown.

Maybe...and I'm just guessing here...the owners are hoping the restaurant won't fail, and will instead make them money?
