I have a first date tomorrow in Lafayette. It's a blind date thing so want something light and casual. Maybe something with a patio area. Probably a drink and a few appetizers. Would like late afternoon after work atmosphere.

TIA

I second Pamplona...*if* she's a young professional and wouldn't be overly impressed.

If she's younger and/or poorer, it'll come off as try-hard. Take her somewhere that gives her the opportunity to pay half, in that case. Don't let her, but let her offer. As to that....depends on your taste.

Outside at LaPizzeria was my go-to for first dates. Been married 9 years now, and Lafayette's restaurant scene has expanded since then.

if you want to sit on a patio, just take her to coyote blues and sit on the patio drinking ritas. it's not a fancy joint but it's fun to sit on the patio and enjoy some frozen drinks and bullshite.

How do you still go on a blind date nowadays? You've never seen what this chick looks like?

Please check the humidity before choosing to sit on the patio. You might be ruining her 'do and that sucks for a first date.

Not a blind date in the truest sense or the word. I've seen pics of here and have spoken on the phone a few times. Just never met

Couldn't agree more, Darla. And, no girl wants to start glistening outside in the heat on the first date. I love al fresco dining, but I'm reaching my cut off point until mid Fall at this point, with a few exceptions on mild low humidity evenings.

You can sit outside at Agave in River Ranch for decent food.

Then walk across the parking lot to Indulge for a fancy desert.

ETA: there is often live music at Agave, in case that matters to you.
