Anyone had boiled crawfish from a restaurant in Lafayette yet? How were they and how was the size?

I’ve been to Cajun Claws 3 times already. Medium to large, $8/lb.

Rouses had them today. Not sure what the price per pound was, but I glanced at a bag that could fit in my two cupped hands and it was $26. Dwights usually features them early in the season, but again, you're going to pay for them.

I had reason to go back to Rouses again today and noticed that there's plenty of crawfish ready for $5.99 lb.

Why would you go to Rouses for crawfish?

2 weeks ago, Crawfish time on Verot.

5 lbs for $39.99. All small to medium, maybe 4 large ones in the whole bunch. Not exactly my greatest purchase ever.

Can’t really argue with you, but too many idiot consumers are paying these high prices for small bugs, so until that stops, the trend will continue.

What's your point? It doesn't mean there aren't people or places that do it better. I've had Rouses crawfish and there's definitely better options out there.

They are boiling and selling more crawfish than most places. I didnt say they were the best, they appeal to a crap ton of people and sell a shite ton of crawfish. Im not just talking about rouses though.

If they are selling that much more than obviously they are doing something right for a good price.

Waiting for the 5 lbs for $20 special at Crawfish Hole on Verot next to Earl’s. Last year it was every Saturday starting in late February. Those are the best in my opinion.
