I'm surprising the wife with a night flight and a mystery dinner date and wanted to get the rec's from the board.

Prejean's is a tourist trap.... hole in the wall places are welcome..... GO!

I've been there before and don't have enough time to go over there to Iowa...

I'll be landing at the LFT airport and using the crew car so it needs to be about 2 hours or so on the ground.

Poorboys Riverside

Nice place that won't disappoint.

Get the crawfish boulettes for an app.

Crab Imperial for entree.

Lots of other good things too, crab dinner, crawfish bisque, etc.

Boiled crawfish are prime right now. I'm not sure if Riverside does boiled. If they don't, there are lots of places close by that do.

Guidry's is hands down the best Cajun restaurant in Lafayette. Get on Kaliste Saloom (off of Evangeline Thwy) and take a right on pinhook. Cross the bridge and it's on the left. Great onion rings and crab fingers for appetizers, the flounder and snapper is amazing, as well as all of the fried seafood.

I get the flounder filet with lump crabmeat

I like Guidry's as well, but I like Poor Boys better. Aye at Guidry's several months ago.

Don't like Blue Dog much at all.

Best boiled crawfish you'll get at an eating establishment, IMO. You just better get there by 5pm if you go on Friday or Saturday during crawfish season...or you'll be waiting.
