I love to park in the back. See all the farm animals and take in the property. We always try to show up early and ask to have a drink in the bar. The older lady runs it, and lives on the property, and she's pretty special. With drinks we usually walk outside to the courtyard off of the bar and just look around a bit.

For dinner the wife and I usually decide on two perfect meals, where the apps complement the entrees but we don't worry about them individually clashing. Then we share as
Much as possible. Some of the plates, both apps and entrees, are bigger than you'd think, so I end up playing clean up. Also, if my wife goes out on a limb ordering I'll make sure to order something I'll know she'll love. We've swapped whole entrees at restaurants more times than I can count. This is one place you can be really adventurous in ordering, since it's all prepared rather simply despite the description.

I usually like their meat and game dishes better than their fish dishes. That being said, the house-smoked salmon appetizer is one of my favorites if they have it.

I recall they still had the stuffed quail gumbo last time I went. That is pretty fantastic. But really everything there is excellent. My only qualm about the place is I wish they would build a few cottages or cabins on the property so you could go over, have dinner, and spend the night. Wake up in the morning to breakfast and be on your way.

Had the wild boar ravioli last time I was there, was definitely legit.
