I always thought a Kolache Factory located in Baton Rouge (probably near LSU) would be able to print money.

Kolaches aren't LA at all. It's Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, and it's a Central Europe pastry.

Czech brah. They are amazing and I am craving them. Anywhere in BR with anything half decent? I know in houston you can buy them frozen at the grocery store and pop them in the oven.

I can't believe no one has opened a kolache place here. I lived on those things when I lived in Houston.

KOLACHE FACTORY SPECS REQUIREMENTS

Kolache Factory bakery-cafes are typically located in strip shopping centers and range in size from 1,540-1,800 sq. ft.

Market demographics are based on a minimum three mile population of 60,000, with a minimum average household income of $60,000.

The bakery-cafes provide limited customer seating because most of our customers purchase kolaches for off-premises consumption.

In order to ensure that Kolache Factory bakery-cafes are consistent in appearance, they must be built-out or remodeled to Kolache Factory's specifications.

When we go to my wife's family reunion in Ellsworth, Kansas her grandma would make them everyday and they were awesome. Apricot and raspberry were the Bomb.

Here's the problem: Baton Rouge shops call pigs in a blanket kolaches. A Kolache is not a pig in a blanket!

In Texas (I've only had them in Houston) they are rolls of goodness with items such as bacon, cheese, jalepenos and eggs.

The Kolache Factory has over 20 different types. Baton Rouge "Kolaches" are a hot dog rolled in bread and that is all.

I love them, but don't know of a place in Baton Rouge that has them, other than Mary Lea Donuts and they are "ok" there. I know of a place in Lafayette that sells them and they are awesome, just not driving to Lafayette to buy Kolaches...anybody know of a place in Baton Rouge??

I don't see the need for purchasing a franchise on this one. Seems like a perty easy concept and the name Kolache Factory is not known here.
