Some people like to be dumbasses. I've gone once, and it might be the best burger I've ever had. Only complaints is you've got to order the burger more well done than you like cause they like to leave some pink in it, and the seating isn't ideal.

Sweet P's recommendation is solid as well, there's one on the river that's a nice scene towards Maryville.

Knoxville has a really good food scene if you go to the right spots. Don't count on seafood though.

The Peter Kern library for drinks. It's a somewhat hidden bar in the The Oliver Hotel that's themed like a speakeasy. Access was through a sliding door in the lobby when I went but it looks like it may have changed to a door in the alley.

Definitely go to Stock and Barrel.

Cruze Farms for Ice Cream

Is that the place with all the hot chicks in red and white throwback dresses? We stopped there when we were in town.

My fellow travelers are clamoring for Tennessee BBQ places.....other than those listed any hidden gems?

We will be staying at Holiday Inn Express on Pepper Mill

In general how well do places do brisket?

Beef BBQ isn’t part of TN BBQ. You want pulled pork and ribs. Yelp list is pretty accurate for ranking for Knoxville area. I’ve never felt Knoxville ever had a hidden gem BBQ place. You tend to make outsiders just as happy if you bring them to Calhoun’s vs Dead End or Sweet Ps.

Beef is typically done very poor in comparison to Texas when it’s offered as an option here.
