We are looking at this deal and I wanted to ask the FDB if they prefer the glass bowl of the stainless?

I know I want the tilt head and the 5qt. This will be replacing a sunbeam mixer that we finally wore out.

Cheers

I have the stainless and like it. I’m sure the glass is fine as well.

It’s a kitchen aid. Can’t go wrong.

Yeah I figured. This is a pretty big investment for us but we have really been wanting one.

Not a big fan of the tilt head, it’s underpowered for the price. Glass bowl is heavy, I prefer the stainless. It’s worth investing in a “beater blade” that scrapes the bowl as it rotates.

The stainless is good for whipping cold cream.

I’ve got the stainless, but have never had or used the glass. Are there advantages to having glass?

Only real functionality of glass over stainless is 1) the glass bowl can be microwaved, and 2) measurement markings on the bowl (I think).

I wouldn't pay more for glass.

My wife was super pissed when I got her a mixer.

Now she uses it like once a week. I make sure to bring up how pissed she was everytime.

I don't know the wattage on mine, but there are times I've wished I'd have more power, specifically when using attachments.

I have that one but in a different color

I like it but it took some getting used to getting the bowl in place. Used to have the tilt head mixer that has the screw in bowl.

The tilt heads will not last very long if you use it for heavy duty work, after stripping out 2 sets of planetary gears I threw it away and bought the crank style, it is a beast.

The classic tilt is great for whipping cream but if you do much dough or something like divinity often they just cant hold up.

One of the best purchases I ever made. I love my mixer more than my car!

Besides making dough, what kind of things is a stand mixer good for? I really don't know.
