Kingfish v Tableau?

Trying to book a restaurant for the Friday before Xmas for a bunch of friends and the usual FQ christmas lunch suspects arent available. My best options are Tableau or Kingfish. Which would you pick and why?

Tableau has stepped their game up considerably. Food is good if not great and it definitely has that sort of holiday vibe that time of year. I’ve never heard much good about Kingfish, I’m surprised they are still open.i went once years ago and was not impressed.

Every law firm and company in town has their Xmas parties that friday in the FQ and book them in like March

OP, have you thought about something less conventional like Manolito or Jewel of the South

Kingfish is one of my favorite places to go for cocktail hour. It used to be a good restaurant when Sonier of Gabriel’s was the chef.
I like Tableau mostly for the atmosphere.
The only reason I don’t go to dinner at either one that often is not because they are bad, but because there are plenty better restaurants in the French Quarter.

I am not recommending this as a great restaurant, but one that is nice enough and probably available. Tbe Bourbon House.
Every year, often on that day I go to a Christmas luncheon in one of the upstairs banquet rooms there and always notice plenty of available tables downstairs.
