We will be in NOLA with two small kids (5&4) and are looking for good eats for a Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. We are willing to travel the whole city for good experiences so any and all Recs are appreciated.

I am actually open to “tourist traps” like hard rock and bubba gump because I think the kids would enjoy the atmosphere. Any other recommendations?

I can’t think of one that I would not have brought a 4 or 5 year old to.

Couple of options, mine are those ages also.

Pizza Delicious. Great pizza and pasta. Plus there is a playground almost next door so before or after kids can run around a bit.

Any of the Freret mainstays (Company Burger, High Hat, Ancona, etc...) also great gelato spot in Freret called Piccola. Kids love it and the gelato is outstanding.

Russell’s Marina Grill is a good spot for breakfast. It’s out by the lake, large menu, good food and a great vibe. Again close to lake so kids can go run around.

Peche. It’s vibrant and loud so kids are sort of entertained by all that is going on. Great food and they have things like fish sticks, chicken thighs with white bbq sauce, etc... that are kid friendly.

Steer clear of the tourist traps. As others have said, kids are pretty much welcome anywhere in New Orleans. And even at the fancy spots are probably better behaved than the adults.

What part of town? Cafe Du Monde with kids is a must.

Couchon
Dragos
Peche
Johnny Sanchez
Company Burger
Rum House

I mean your options are quite unlimited depending on if they are picky eaters or not and if they are accustomed to eating out in restaurants. Some 4-5 year old kids can’t sit in one place long enough for a decent meal.

All great recs, cafe du monde will be hit at some point. My biggest problem is that my youngest is a giant titty baby and will start crying if she gets bored. We bring iPads sometimes to make sure we can finish eating without her having a meltdown.

They really are not picky eaters so menu isn’t really an issue. We will be staying near gentilly and breakfast will be at gentilly cafe for Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday is up for grabs.

We will ride the streetcars so anything of interest along those routes? Anything near the aquarium other than dragos?

Gentilly, streetcars, aquarium...sounds like you will be driving.

Any touristy place in the quarter will be fine to bring the kids and serve about the same food.

Chilly Gentilly doesnt have a ton of selection really. A gas station with some decent greek food.

Heading uptown get off the streetcar at Jackson and walk to Magazine. District is on the corner of Mag and Jackson and will be perfect for your clan.

That is a terrible theory.

Katies is the only place I would bring a kid on that list.

A pizza place or a hot dog place like Dat Dog. I doubt your kids are foodies that will appreciate anywhere else.

Add R&O’s to your list. A little out, but a good time and meal will be had by all.

I actually get what he is saying. He is willing to take his kids somewhere fun that may not necessarily be the best food just so they can have the experience and make memories. 4 and 5 year olds don’t care or get excited about eating at Peche. Story of my life.

Take them to Barcadia or Dave and Busters then.

Sure but there are places in New Orleans where one can have experiences that arent Dave and Busters or Bubba Gump.

Pizza Delicious and playground a 1/2 block away is a really good recommendation. You could also get some drinks to-go and walk to the river from there over the bridge.

Agreed. Any other suggestions? The ones above look good.
