Key West, Florida!

Heading to Key West in a little over a month, and was putting together some things to do. I'll probably post on the OT later about activities and whatnot since this is the Food Board, but I am looking for restaurant suggestions.
We are staying at the Waldorf Astoria Reach Resort, but I'm not interested in eating at the hotel restaurant due to reviews. I'm looking for awesome food around the island.
Any suggestions? (:
Suggestions for other things (such as activities and whatnot) are welcome as well. We plan on snorkeling for sure.

Link from previous discussion.
For activities, don't skip the snorkling.
The Irish bar is alot of fun. If you are into sneaking into a strip club for a while, the Red Garter was alot of fun.
See the sunset activities at the end of Duval(Mallary Square I think is what it is called).

ll, check into a snorkeling/sunset cruise combo. you can do both at a cheaper rate in some cases if you do them on the same day.
also, there are cuban places everywhere. you should make time to try that for sure.

This is what we plan on, actually (:

Might have to try that. We are finding PLENTY of activities but not so many restaurants being talked about.

Pretty sure it's not threatening Key West as of right now.

LL, I just got back from a cruise that stopped at Key West. Mrs. Ziggy and I ate at Red Fish Blue Fish and the seafood there was great. I had the Crab and Artichoke dip for an appetizer and the fried feast (fried shrimp, scallops, and fish of the day) and both were EXCELLENT!

We ate at El Meson de Pepe last time we were there (May, 2008) and it was fantastic.
EL MESON DE PEPE
We absolutely LOVED it! The sangria is delish (that's how I judge a restaurant these days). We sat on the side patio overlooking the old cemetery. The bread was magical. My fiance had the fried pork and he loved every second of it. He was born and raised (through age 15) in Guatemala, but he LOVES Cuban food and all things pork. He's still talking about this meal.
When we got home, we were telling my parents about our day visit to Key West (my fella had never been and we were in Miami so I insisted we make the drive down for the day). My parents had been in Key West the previous month. We were describing the place to them, but couldn't remember the name, and they knew exactly where we were talking about. They had eaten there too. My dad also had the fried pork and, to this day, is still talking about it. I don't eat fried foods anymore, so I can't vouch for it. The rice and beans were great (as was whatever grilled chicken dish I had). My FI loved the platains too.
I've heard great things about El Siboney too. I can't wait to go back to Key West!
Have SO much fun!

Pisces off of Truman Ave is out of this world. It is a little expensive but not too bad. White table cloth type of place...I have never had a bad meal there...EVER! If they have hogfish when you go, it is a must! I have never had hogfish as good as they do it.

Kellys on whitehead street is by far the best place we have eaten at down there. Hot Tin Roof was ok, but wasn't as good as we were led to believe.
Saw this write up on Sky Magazine on the way to NYC a few weeks ago and it did a good job of hitting on the goods things in Key West. SKY Article
Unfortunately you are on the opposite end of the island from Mallory Square and Duval street, but is isn't too far and likely the resort has transportation.

Hot Tin Roof was a major let down. IMHO

THe entire island is 4 miles long. I think we can handle it (: We walked all over Washington, D.C. on our last trip and it was much bigger.
