Keurig 2.0 tastes and smells of plastic

I picked up the newest Keurig 2.0 and followed the cleaning and set up instructions only to find the water reeks of plastic after heating. I soaked the removable components in vinegar over night and washed again then ran vinegar and water through the reservoir multiple times. There is still a plastic smell and taste to the coffee. Has anyone experienced this? Any other suggestions or should I just return it?
I hate this because I bought a ton of those K cups and don't want to waste them.

I gave up on my keurig and going back to standard coffee maker - may investigate a French press.
I loved the ease of the keurig but the end product was short on quality.

I am far from a coffee connoisseur, more of a dark roast max caffeine guy, but this stuff tastes like a science experiment. Honestly hoping for someone to confirm it goes away after a few weeks but can't believe Keurig would put this on the market. Worst part is that Google shows this being an issue as far back as five years ago. Wish I had known before I spent $170.

Keurig has always been meh for me. I've tried a couple at different jobs I worked at--wouldn't spend $50 on one

They have a keurig at our sister company's office and I never liked it. I use a $13 coffee pot at the house that does just fine. Had two pots this morning after being up with the little man since 4:30

The 2.0 is a massive fail for the company.
Rumor is they want to recall al of them.
I have one of the originals and still love it, a couple of friends of mine bought 2.0's and returned them immediately because of the plastic smell.

Dark roasts have less caffeine than medium or light roasts.

Sorry to bring up a day-old thread, my girlfriend got a 2.0 for Christmas and it's been less than impressive. Regularly will have the screen go blank and will have to unplug/replug to reboot and start over. The first one completely quit working after 2 weeks, it's replacement just quit working a couple weeks ago. Each time Keurig has sent a replacement at no charge, they don't even want the old units back. They only have asked that a small plastic piece be removed and returned to them. She currently has 2 broken Keurigs sitting in a closet.

I have only used a French press at home for nearly a decade. I keep a regular pot in the pantry for when family comes into town.
I have used Keurigs at friends' houses and at doctor offices. I was not impressed.
The only advice I could give the OP is to soak it overnight in Dawn.

It's really hard to beat French pressed coffee, imo. Just on another level.
I really don't understand kurig, it's not that hard to figure out how much coffee ground to water for a single cup in a drip.
I usually want a little more to top me off too so kurig doesn't do anything for me.

Our Keurig had the same issue and eventually it did go away. It took a lot of running. For a while we quit using it for coffee completely and would use it for hot chocolate in the winter. Recently tried coffee in it again and the taste seemed to be normal.

Well, besides making fun of my lack of coffee knowledge regarding MG's of caffeine per cup, I didn't learn too much here. Haha. Sounds like the machine is going back to Costco. I made and had to throw away two cups of DARK ROAST coffee yesterday as they were undrinkable.
