Kashi Cereal

Saw a commercial for Kashi cereal last night. They rant on about how they are healthy, better for the planet, blah blah.
I remembered we had a box (given to me-long story), so I decided to look at the ingredients, ready to go on my own rant about their BS.
Much to my surprise, the cereal is low in fat, AND most importantly, 0g sugar (at least the one we have).
So color me surprised.
We are trying to cut out sugar in every way possible, so I am now a fan.

I enjoy the chocolate crunch, and berry mix cereals by kashi. I normally eat this around 4:45am, by 9am I have so much gas it's hilarious! Keeps me full til lunchtime.

You have a long story about a box of cereal being given to you?

Jewish friend gave it to me during passover when they were clearing the office from anything with yeast.
So I guess "boring story" would have been better.

Get ready for the gas.

I enjoy kashi but it tends to kill my stomach

Fair tradeoff to avoid 13g of processed sugar in a "healthy" cereal.

Go Lean Crunch is my go to, but I like all the incarnations.

I don't mind the Go Lean Crunch. Most of their other stuff just taste like cardboard to me. No flavor, probably because no sugar.

Good idea. Sort of a make your own cereal thing?

I don't mind some gas, it's natural after all. But the ride to gas town on Kashi cereal is just ridiculous. It'd be fine if I worked from home, but no human can hold that much gas in in an office environment.

Just because it has healthy ingredients, how does that make it “better for the planet” as they claim. This has always aggravated me when I see the commercial.

I find it like eating cardboard. I understand something like cereal is hard to make truly "healthy" and good tasting, but I'll eat some yogurt and granola or something else entirely well before I eat something like Kashi cereal.
