The guy taking the orders can be a dick sometimes.
This was the reason I cancelled my order. I was rudely told I needed to pick a drink out because it came with a burger order, unbeknownst to me. I asked what drinks did they offer, because no drinks were listed on the menu board. He rudely responded with '"whatever you want" I noticed he was being a dick to the previous guy who ordered as well but I figured maybe he was having a bad day. What sucks is I really wanted that burger. oh well, maybe next time.

I thought you had to ask for a a combo for it to come with a drink and fries. Its 2 dollars more if I recall.
But yea the dude isnt very friendly to his customers. I just dont tip him everytime he is rude.

With full knowledge mentioning tipping practices could start a fatwa on the board, I thought you didn't tip the proprietor of an establishment.
:ducks:

Dont really know if the guy taking the order is the owner or not. Im talking tipping a buck though too.

Probably depends on the day, but he often is at the window taking orders and drumming up repeat business.

I agree. Been treated rudely a few times but really doesn't get to me. They have made some national food shows so maybe getting to their head. Still a damn good burger.

I know the owner of Curbside and he's a good guy.

I've never run in to a problem there and I am a "repeat offender."

Probably is.. But if he is the guy that is always taking orders then he should at least avoid being a dick to his customers. Three people in this thread have noticed it. One guy cancelled his order because of it. He may just not realize he is doing it.

Ive eaten there many a time and never had an issue. I actually met the owner on saturday and he was super nice.

Being rude to customers is what made the soup nazi.
I'm not one to chit chat and I ha e my order made up in my mjnd before I get to the counter.

I've never seen the owner taking orders, FWIW. He's usually cooking burgers.

I have never seen the guy be a complete jackass just get into needless arguments with the customer or just come off as a bit standoffish.

Just doesn't sound like the guy. Maybe it's one of his employees?
But I've also found that people on this board complain about a lot, and if they aren't given treatment bordering that of a prince, they're upset about it. That's overstating it a bit, but I've just never noticed a problem there.

Worst I witnesses was basically:
Customer: Can you hold my drink until the order is ready?
Guy: Why?
Customer: Uh because I like it cold
Guy: It will stay cold I promise you.
Customer: But last time it wasnt
Guy: It will be cold this time
Customer: Can you just hold it for me?
Guy: Ok
So that was pretty much exctly how that went maybe a few more words.. Nothing completly over the top or even close to getting into Pokie territory but pretty much left us in line thinking.. WTF just hold the guys drink.

they should put an ice chest out front with some ice so people can put their drinks in there, or have cups where u can scoop out some ice

I'm from N.O., rude service people are part of the charm, we revel in it.
I grew up going to Jerry's Poboys on Carondelet downtown. Once you managed to get to the 3 deep counter to place your order, if you so much as stammered for a second he would sneer and yell, "NEXT". Very intimidating. You people are pussies with your feeling on your sleeve.
