I just bought my wife a juicer for Mother's Day. Hey, she wanted it. Do any of you juice? Any quick tips I should know?
Looking for recipes on:
weight loss
antioxidant
energy/metabolism gain
I'm doing some googling on recipes. Bought a recipe book on amazon but it hasn't come in yet. I'll keep looking around, but seeing the OT knows everything, I'd like to get some guidance from you guys.
edit: didn't know apple seeds have very low levels of arsenic. I guess I drank some arsenic last night...

I had sex with a girl that juices all the time. It wasn't very good.

Reading some of the websites, its seems juicers are kinda douchey. I gotta go buy a prius now.

Everyone talks about kale, but I think collards are right up there in the nutrients. And collards are a bit denser, so you don't have to put a lot in. I usually go collards or kale, a couple of carrots, and an apple. That is about a pint of juice.

And you, sir, would be correct. Kale and collards are remarkably close, watercress is way up there as well.
I also do the cascadian farms mixed berries with coconut milk, cinnamon, and a little agave in the morning. Really good

Stay away from steroids, they will dramatically shorten your life expectancy.

Reminds me of the South Park Smug Alert episode.

Juicing is how I learned I was allergic to kale.

Fun fact, most things that come from the soil contain arsenic. It's just that they are not unsafe levels. Just like, every day we are subjected to radiation. Just not in unhealthy doses.

Didn't realize collards were so nutrient dense. I juice lots of celery and cucumber as my base and try to throw in either spinach and kale along with green apple, carrot, and ginger. Grapefruit goes well with everything also.

i usually juice enough for a couple days too, while i got all the stuff out.

This all sounds rather unappetizing

Our standard is 6 carrots, 1 apple and a bunch of Kale and/or spinach.
Parsley is a very good to mix in as is ginger root, but go easy on the ginger.

Why juice when you can blend and get the fiber?
I know some do it to give their body a break from the fiber but on a daily basis wouldn't blending be better?

About half an inch of ginger root is all you need.
And half a citrus(lime, lemon, grapefruit).
And one/two apples.
It makes just about anything taste good with those flavors.
I sometimes add a berry, but berries are hard to extract juice from even in a good quality centrifugal juicer. They need to be masticated.
Then you add leafy greens, carrots, cucumbers, etc.
Just mix and match, it's all healthy(just don't use too much fruit, it contains a lot of natural sugar).
