Need a tip from you guys. I’ve never used parboil rice before in jambalaya. Do I adjust the liquid or cook time from regular long grain rice?

Why not just use regular rice?

Wife had a fundraiser jambalaya and liked how each kernel was separate. I told her it’s because it was parboil. She requested

Boo this man. I hate when I take a bite of jambalaya and the individual pieces of rice are falling everywhere. Just stick with your tried and true recipe. It was just fine every time I ate it.

This is a sin against mankind.

If you want separated rice in a jambalaya just make sure you use the proper liquid to rice ratio and boil the devil out of it before cutting the fire.

I will only allow parboiled rice if doing a red jambalaya with seafood in it.
It helps to avoid overcooking the seafood and the lack of releasing starch helps with it not sticking with the added sugar.
Unlike most in here, I don't believe tomatoes and parboiled rice for SOME jambalaya. I just believe it to be a mortal sin for REAL jambalaya.

Support Louisiana farmers, do not use parboiled rice which is Arky rice!

Zatarain’s has a parboiled and I’m pretty sure at least some of their rice is Louisiana grown.
And to the op if you want non sticky rice wash all the starch off your regular rice. I do it when I’m cooking just a few cups but it can be done with a large batch. Rinse and swirl around until the water runs clear.

Whenever I see a parboiled rice jambalaya, my thoughts are someone can't cook rice.

I was saying you'd have better taste and mouth feel because you'd be using regular rice.
