Anyone shopped here yet? It sounds awesome. How does it compare to Maxwells and the like, as far as price, quality, and selection?
I like the idea that it's as farm-to-table as you can get in BR.

Can't speak to Maxwell's, but we pretty much buy all our meat at Iverstine now. It's fantastic. Does it cost more? Yep. But I'm OK with that, because I know the quality is high, and I like knowing where my food came from.

Been there a few times. Nice dudes. A tad pricey though on the better bigger cuts. But, that meat is butchered on site. They get the half cows in and break down the cuts of meat there behind the window.
Supposed to have some good burgers (own meat mix) and sausage.

I stopped by one Sunday, hoping to try a couple of their sandwiches, but they told me they weren't served on Sunday. I ended up buying some boudin which was OK, nothing special.

I go once a week and fill the ice chest... best quality meat in town IMO. you get what you pay for.
much better than Maxwells. Iverstine's products come from their farm, not a distributer

Yeh it's pricier but you get to talk to the people who raised and butchered your meat and everything is fresh and just tastes better. The breakfast sausage is fantastic and the other varieties of sausage that I've tried are good as well. The butcher burger patties are awesome(they grind bacon into the meat). The boudin isn't the best but I don't expect it to be considering it's not in Scott. I'm a fan.

Not very comparable to Maxwell's. Maxwell's is a mini grocery store(wine/beer, some produce, dry products, etc). A place you can go and make dinner by just stopping there.
Iverstine is a place to get some high quality meats.

Buy a smallish chicken, brine it for a few hours, rinse well in cool water, season and roast.
You're welcome.
Plus they sell a few good beers.

How are the lunch samdwiches and tacos? I've been intending to stop by for that and check out the market. Just haven't yet.

They're all great, IMO. But there's nowhere to eat it there, so just know it's a carry out only situation.

Wanting to do my first Brisket on the primo soon. Guessing they can pre-trim so I don't have to?

i go home for lunch most of time so its convenient for me.
Starting this past Monday 05/01, they changed up the lunch menu. It looks like they have several more options now.

Rocks the house.
Their pork is otherworldly. Tastes like pork did before they bred all the flavor out of it in factory farms

That's the beauty of it. They will cut whatever you want, even at a moment's notice.
And you haven't lived until you've tried one of their bone in pork chops.
